Upholstery Cleaning Question: S Fabric: Non-water Solvent: Non-toxic: What Do You Recommend?

October 8th, 2009

My furniture upholstery needs some spot cleaning. It needs a non-water solvent that is non-toxic. What do you recommend? It’s a light yellow fabric with an “S” code for cleaning. The stain is a human oil or cat oil stain where the head would rest.

I know that on my upholstery, I used my Big Green Steam machine, and it worked fine, but that’s definitely water solvent. For yours, I would recommend you use something like Woolite upholstery cleaner. There are other products out there. Something that you would spray on, brush off, then vacuum. Check at Target, Walmart or KMart for products.
