You can use a hair shampoo for oily hair and 1 cup of white vinegar in that machine and it cleans better than any carpet cleaner and the vinegar removes odors in the carpet.

Here are a couple things. First and foremost bravo on caring for you pets. There are a lot of cleaning products out there that can really hamr you pets. Here is a good site about pet friendly floors, and cleaning those floors as well… from carpet to hardwood, you name it it’s here:

Hoover makes a product for use in pet households. I can’t remember the name but it takes out their odors and the stains.
we’ve used it for 10 years with our carpet cleaner and the cat is fine….
