Let The Great Powers Of Feng Shui Rule Your Roost

April 2nd, 2011

In our daily lives, we are always faced with choices —- to quit our job or not, to buy new laptop or not, to eat out or just cook lunch at home. We make choices regarding what to wear, how to tie our hair, how the different furniture in our house will be arranged or what furniture to buy. The main purpose of making choices is to be different from other people and to make our own image and statement. More often than not, our choices are based on the time it requires, effort it needs, fashion statements, needs, comfort and price. Yet sometimes, we choose or arrange things according to feng shui.

Feng shui helps create a smooth flow of energy in the entire house. It also helps maintain positive energy flowing and keeps negative energy away. Feng shui makes use of the different energy around us to attract luck, wealth, success and love. Everything in feng shui matters — the color, size, material and position of the rooms, doors, windows and even furniture. In a typical house, there are four major areas namely: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dining room. In this article, we will discuss how to manage the energy flow in the dining room or the house.

The kitchen must not be located in the center of the house, which is related to the earth, for earth destroys fire (element associated with the kitchen). It is best if the kitchen is situated in either south or southeastern part of the northern hemisphere or in north or northeastern part of southern hemisphere. Also, the kitchen that is near to the front door is considered to be bad luck. This will only allow energy to just pass through. It is also believed that the guests who will come to your house will only eat and run if the kitchen is too near to the front door. In addition, kitchen must not also be placed near the bathroom because it is unhygienic and the respective elements of the two rooms — water for the bathroom and fire for the kitchen —- will not work together since water is used to kill the fire.

Bathroom and toilet should be separate because they have different functions. The other is meant for external cleansing and the other is intended for the internal. If the toilet is also located in the bathroom, it would be best if it won’t be visible from the doorway. It could be behind the door or use curtain to shield it from view.

Now you are aware how to feng shui your own kitchen. Try to remember the tips above and check the position of the things in your kitchen. If you noticed that some things are not properly placed or are located in areas that make the energy flow in the room difficult then transfer them. Notice how this can help improve the feeling in your kitchen
