Has your interior designer suggested hiring a Canadian flooring company to install wood or tile in your home? If so , she has probably done so for a few different reasons. One might be because new flooring would work fine with the design you are creating together. But a bigger reason could be because when it comes to rocketing a home’s value , natural floor coverings like ceramic tile, stone and wood can just do that – increase the value of your home.
Naturally, the 1st question you might ask your interior designer would be whether carpet might be used instead . In fact , carpet is simpler on the feet, is hotter, and if done right , can look just as lovely as wood and tile. But the answer to that will be no – while carpeting is sweet, it will not increase the value of your home. Why not? Because home buyers need to choose their own carpet, and nine times out of 10, they’ll rip out existing carpet and replace it with their choice anyhow. Home assessors know this, and so don’t assign any additional worth to a home when it has new carpeting.
But guess what? Both wood and tile can be as warm as carpet, as long as the right design elements are used . For instance, hardwood flooring can look more beautiful ( not to mentioned be warmed up and softened ) by thick, plush area rugs. And there are lots of choices when it comes to area rugs – you can get rugs in just as many colors, patterns, designs and fibers as carpet comes in.
The same is right for tile and stone flooring – an area rug can go a long way toward making them feel just as warm and soft as a carpeted floor would, while protecting the increased value of your home.
With tile and stone, you also have the choice of heated flooring. There are 3 ways to heat floors – electrical, water and air – with the commonest being water. With this design component, plastic or metal pipes are laid within a floor, close to the surface. Hot water is then run through the pipes, warming the floors. This design element also increases the value of a home. So , if your interior designer has advised new floor coverings of either wood or stone, give it some serious thought.
Wood and stone flooring not only increase the value of your house, but with the design elements we’ve mentioned, can be equally as inviting and warm on your feet as carpets can.
